A 65-year-old man, from the NSW Hunter Region, was arrested in March after an investigation into the crimes, which allegedly occurred between 2002 and 2004.

The historic charges come after an investigation by detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad was launched in 2019.A 65-year-old man, from the NSW Hunter Region, was arrested on March 6, 2020, and taken to Raymond Terrace Police Station.The 53-year-old from Moonee Ponds was arrested on Saturday night after an incident outside a home in St Kilda about 9:00pm.He was charged with three counts of indecent assault of a child under ten years old, and five counts of inciting aggravated indecency where the victim is under 16 and under authority of an offender.The father of three did not apply for bail and remained in custody on Sunday evening.The man was also charged with six counts of aggravated indecent assault of victim under the age of 16, and six counts of aggravated sexual intercourse with a victim between 10 and 14.He is due to face court again on May 11.Police will allege in court that the man indecently and sexually assaulted the girls – then aged from eight and 10 – on several occasions while they were in his care between 2002 and 2004."We are open to students for this purpose.
