A former boss of Australia's intelligence agency has warned the Chinese government is seeking to influence the country’s political system and infiltrate the community.
Duncan Lewis claimed Chinese authorities were targeting politicians and seeking to win influence social, business and media circles. The former head of ASIO warned the impact of Chinese foreign interference operations may not be apparent for decades and cautioned against paranoia but called on members of the Chinese community to help security agencies.
They already have. Look at the current Labor party. Wong and Co. Keating Albo. It been happening for years. It shows you how poor a job this lad did. He’s only just noticed it.
