The White House has reported an experienced general will take the lead in the Ukraine invasion, but US officials believe 'no appointment of any general can erase the fact that Russia has faced a strategic failure'.

Lieutenant Colonel Farles al-Bayoush warned Gen. Dvornikov could initiate"rapid battles" in several Ukrainian regions at once. The plan would see intense bombardments of towns and cities under long periods of time."This commander is a war criminal."

"This general will just be another author of crimes and brutality against Ukrainian civilians," he said. Ukrainian forces firing rockets towards Russian troops in the Donbas region.
