Former Labor MP Emma Husar has criticised the ALP for its 'sanctimonious' behaviour in light of the Brittany Higgins allegations, arguing the party has also been complicit in the toxic culture within Parliament House.

So often, the trauma of what happens after an horrific episode of assault, abuse or harassment can be as devastating as the original episode itself.

A salacious article published by Buzzfeed claimed she had bragged about her sexual relations, sexually harassed an employee and exposed herself to a colleague. On Wednesday, she wrote an open letter to Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese, turning the attention to Labor's problems with women and criticising the party's "deadly" silence following the allegations that were levelled at her.

It may not have happened at all, or not rape at least. Online commentators and other pundits in Canberra are now saying that she was even drunker than has been admitted and that she was talking filthy sexual talk the whole time when she went through the building with the accused

Can we talk about Kathy Sherriff yet Still no?

This coming from the lady who allegedly bullied her own staff members and lost her job as a result. The queen of workplace toxicity herself!

Anyone find an article on the accusations against Bill shorten?

🇦🇺

Yes JusticeForKellySherriff with billshortenmp or is it different when a Labor Politician? tanya_plibersek AlboMP

Good ol’ auntie running protection for the government. Shit hole of an organisation now. Sky News Diet Lite

Bollocks

Well that's awkward 🤔 Next up, The Greens, although racism & pedos are their forte😂

I would totally believe this! Misogyny and demeaning women within all cultures, and must be far worse in a male dominated parliamentary bubble Tolerating abuse and rape and covering it up is what I’d expect, I’m sorry to say They are for party and at any cost PartyOverPeople

btckr Brittney needed an ambulance and medical care but they called a steam cleaner instead Is this ScottMorrisonMP 's fixers attempt to say ' look over there its Labor' Also

Hey Lisa you can attack Liberal politicians as well as Labor ones. This morning you seemed angry & I haven’t seen you show that anger towards Liberal politicians over the alleged rape.Don’t fob it off, look at your tapes, you always seem angry & aggressive when Labor are involved.

Deflecting the issue over to Labor when it's happening right now and literally being covered up by the LNP! ABC supporting libs and being partisan, again

How quickly we forget! Women will be first admit that some of the biggest workplace bullies are women! Many women do not want to work for a female boss. What we are seeing here are radical feminists using a situation to attack men! It's called misandry.

Labor labor labor

I wondered why they weren’t taking the free political points lately

...double dealing, intrigue and hothouse stress.

I think a lot of this has to do with all the A type personalities that go into politics. They all think they’re God’s gift (and not just to the electorate), and the smartest guys in the room. Politics itself is also an incestuous breeding ground of secrecy...

Must be back from holidays....

Well how about this bring in laws to stop this happening. It needs to stop now! The AFP need to go in and arrest everyone in parliament who has sexually assaulted someone. Liberal Labor national whoever lock them up.

I can almost see her nipples

Read all pkease

Hey everyone jump in Peter Van we’re are you KK we’re are you ? pW we are you better smile to her all of you guilty and you are trying other ?haha hope all you get the sack anc kick out

Great to hear from you o always believe in you I am Lindsay voter pkease put all this behind and tell all AA amd KK PW they ko deserved to be were they are

What am I missing here? This woman is comparing herself for being shammed for allegedly acting like a slut, her words not mine, to a rape victim. Wow! Just wow, what a disgusting way to try and get sympathy for acting like a slut. This is grotesquely in poor taste.

I have no time for people who play the ‘victim’ card. It doesn’t matter where it happens, touching or groping are assault, and if the intent is rape, it is sexual assault. Any woman has the responsibility to have any perp. charged, even if only to protect others. Stand up, fight!

The ALP may be a long way off perfect, but they’re at least heading in the right direction... TheyAllKnew

She probably were paid very well to say that , now that we are close to election . Or maybe the libs promise a high position somewhere in gov if they win .

Wasn’t Emma accused of sexual harassment by one of her staff ?

mangotree_books Spin spin spin

FOIcentric People starting to figure out that the Left/Right paradigm is fake.... Finally 👏👏👏

You actually nearly had me back, but this was a very unbalanced way of “balanced reporting “ Rape after rape after rape BrittanyHiggins is a legend. Concentrate on what was done (or not done)for her.

Labor is not in power though. The Liberals are and they need to be held account for what has happened and is continuing to happen under their watch.

It's wrong no matter who is doing it. That's the message. If anything should be bipartisan in parliament it is a commitment to change the gender culture and develop strict protocols for sexual harassment and sexual assault allegations.

I'm sure they are. But did they cover up rape in Ministerial offices?

Best form of defence is attack. Predictable and boring but yeah whatevs.

So it’s okay the PM’s office covered up a potential rape because the other side has issues?

easy fix, get them all out of parliament

deflection deflection deflection, lets deal with the current situation instead of the But But But someone else did this or that

Remember this👇 auspol

A farcical such as this, only makes me think of the attitude shown towards Emma Alberici by the ABCaustralia!! This is a disgraceful piece of 💩💩💩!!!

I doubt very much women are treated poorly. Feminists probably are. But good men wouldn't want to ridicule a good woman.

They did help the unions bully Ms Sherriff for daring to come forward about billshortenmp sexual assault

Absolutely 👏

It's okay in the Victorian parliament for union thugs to harass and make violent threats to female ministers and get away with it. The media forgot all about this, and the complaints Jane Garrett made that seemingly disappeared to save her career. SpringSt DanielAndrewsLies

Yeah but we’re not talking about them right now becuz they’re not the ones who got caught

Don't start backgrounding for morrison, he is a proven lier, habitual lier that is. And let us hear from some of the workers under your control husar, yeah the ones that accused you of workplace bullying.

This matter should not be politicized it is up to the victim which path she wishes to follow and her wishes need to be respected...

Not quite the same thing as covering up a rape...but good try ABC

ABC has been working over time I’m sure to find ‘balance’ in this story.

There needs to be more detail to be a real criticism.

Yes that's absolutely true... but let's not fail to recognise the HUGE difference between a serious violent offence & a massive security breach and toxic treatment & culture for women in Parliament

Not one of Labor, mainstream media, alternative media and social media’s finest hours. 😔 Emma Husar deserved better.

Can we speak about Kathy Sherriff and her accusations against Bill Shorten No? Still not yet?

Gee, vastly different set of circumstances and grievances between the young staffer and the former MP’s situations? Just a passing thought

Thanks, Emma, for speaking truth to power! emma_husar

Shorten has issues to answer for so when Albanese says Cover Up it's bit rich

GruntledChalkie Rape? MurdochRoyalCommission

Oh here we go again. Smear campaigning and deflections are not going to work this time. Quit it rupert, women are very angry.

Jacqui Lambie got nothing to say either 🤔

Both Sides Need to Be Accountable for all the Hurt they have done to People!

whataboutism

Not only in the fed parliament... This political culture of misogyny has to end. Julia Gillard was right.
