Labor MPs Bill Shorten and Peter Khalil are concerned for the welfare of 3000 people locked down in Melbourne public housing towers auspol springst

Federal Labor MPs have warned a five-day lock-down of public housing towers in Melbourne's inner northern suburbs will further entrench disadvantage and exclusion within its communities.

Mr Khalil, who grew up in social housing in the 1970s, said it was "upsetting" and "concerning" that some of the most socio-economically disadvantaged and vulnerable people in Melbourne were facing harsher restrictions than all other residents. "I understand the need for a health response from the Victorian state government, given the risks of high density housing. However, I also understand the anger and fear being expressed by residents," he said.

This virus is causing hardship. The lock down, though harsh, is meant to save lives........show the value of support structures. When will we learn? Its a disgrace, and should be taken to court for improper use of power SBS should stop shit stirring. You know the virus needs to be controlled before we end up with numbers equal to the UK or US.
