A former doughnut chain employee has been arrested after a police officer discovered something truly vile in his drink order.

The unnamed Illinois State Police District Chicago trooper bought a large cup of black coffee from a Dunkin’ Donuts store in Chicago on Thursday night and happened to remove the lid to allow the drink to cool down as it was “extremely hot”.

That’s when he saw the mucus, which Illinois State Police said in a press release had later been confirmed to be saliva. Dunkin’ Donuts employee Vincent J Sessler, 25, was later arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, reckless conduct, and battery to a peace officer.

Illinois State Police director Brendan F Kelly also issued a statement condemning Mr Sessler’s actions. “This is outrageous and disgusting. The men and women of the Illinois State Police put their heart and soul into protecting the lives and rights of all people in this state every day,” Mr Kelly said.“For their safety, ISP officers and employees will be prohibited from patronising this location.”The disturbing act comes after the
