'Fab jab' clinics are popping up this week to help LGBTIQ+ Victorians get vaccinated

The Victorian Pride Centre will become a vaccine hub until Sunday to offer a safe space for all intersections of the community. A #FabJab campaign has started online to share information and resources about COVID-19 vaccines, including how they interact with hormone replacement therapy medication and pre-exposure prophylaxis.

Cohealth said marginalised community members might be anxious about vaccination because they were reluctant to engage with mainstream services.

SBS Why? How are they unsafe at regular clinics?

If they need a dedicated pop-up safe space just to get vaccinated, then surely they need a dedicated pop-up safe space for everything else too right? There's going to be a hell of a lot of dedicated pop-up safe spaces in Melbourne. 😏

SBS What a fucking joke. It's dictated to us how we're all expected to tolerate and include the alphabet soup community when many sub groups within it straight up refuse to accept each other and amongst all that they're still going out of their way to demand segregation.

Israel defines two jabs not fully vaccinated! Fully vaccinated are still infectious and could be infected! No mandatory vaccination! This is like to prevent death from cancer, to order chemotherapy for all people in advance! Die of chemotherapy prior to cancer

It's great to see community vax initiatives, but the idea that trans people are potentially 'unsafe' turning up to a vax site for a jab is a shitty narrative to be putting out there.

What a stupid idea. But then again a certain group of people always wants to be the victim.

IMHO, the more we segregate, the more we create a divided society. As innocuous as it might seem, creating separate spaces (or conditions), only leads to MORE separate spaces and special conditions. There's no point where we say 'we don't need this anymore'.
