The West Australian's Gemma Tognini says "it's extraordinary" that New South Wales Labor is involved in a corruption inquiry around financial donations doled out by a Chinese billionaire "given its recent history".

The Independent Commission Against Corruption has heard evidence a former NSW Labor boss turned to Huang Xiangmo for help when he lost his political job. Jamie Clements was allegedly given $200,000 to help him restart his career as a consultant. "Do they ever learn?" Ms Tognini said. Image: News Corp Australia
