Extinction Rebellion protesters have brought London's Westminster to a halt as they demand the British government take urgent action on climate change and wildlife losses.
Parliament Square was empty of traffic except for police vans and bicycles, while helicopters circled overhead, as protesters created roadblocks on Westminster and Lambeth Bridges, Victoria Street, Whitehall and the Mall. Activists say the protests could be as much as five times bigger than those held in April, which brought major disruption to London and saw more than 1100 arrests.
