Long-serving Liberal senator Eric Abetz has been demoted to the "potentially risky" third spot on the Liberal senate ticket ahead of the next federal election.Senator Duniam says he's confident the Liberal Party will win all three senate seats at the next federal electionSenator Jonathon Duniam, the Assistant Minister for Forestry, Fisheries and Industry Development, won the coveted top spot on the ticket, with Senator Wendy Askew selected second.
"The people of the Liberal Party exercise a democratic vote and today what they have done is decided that they would like to endorse me, but at the same time they have endorsed Eric Abetz," he said."All three of us have been endorsed by the party to represent us at the next election, the three of us working together as a team will deliver three seats, that's what I'm excited about and I hope Tasmanians come on the journey with us.
"That's the question, who is going to try and win that third seat that would usually go to the conservative side of politics," he said.
