Emotional Meghan Markle’s act amid ‘unimaginable grief’

This visit comes just days after the duchess’ father Thomas Markle was taken to hospital in Mexico after reportedly suffering a stroke.

The 77-year-old was photographed arriving at a hospital in Tijuana on Monday while lying on a stretcher with an oxygen mask strapped to his face.The duchess’ sister Samantha Markle confirmed he has since been taken to another facility where he is currently resting. “My father is recovering in hospital. We ask for privacy for the family, for his health and wellbeing,” she said in a statement.The young family is expected to attend the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee weekend.Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, along with their children, are expected to travel to the UK to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s Platnium Jubilee weekend.

“Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are excited and honoured to attend The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations this June with their children,” a spokesperson for the couple said. The announcement came soon after the palace confirmed that only working members of the royal family would be present for the traditional Buckingham Palace balcony appearance during the festivities.
