A kayaker remains missing south of Adelaide as emergency service crews conclude their search for the night.
About 5:45pm, SA Police was contacted with reports of an empty kayak drifting 80 metres from the shore at Rapid Bay, 100 kilometres south of Adelaide. It was floating in waters near the town's caravan park and jetty and was brought to shore about 6:45pm.SAPOL's Water Operations Unit coordinated a search with local officers, the PolAir helicopter, State Emergency Service crews and Sea Rescue volunteers.In a statement just after 9:00pm, police said the search had concluded and that "a return to the area will be reviewed" on Friday morning.
Police asked anyone who knew someone fishing in a kayak in the area to contact the Police Assistance Line on 131 444.
