Footy legend Danny Frawley’s 15-year war over a cherished memory with supermodel Elle Macpherson is warming hearts after his tragic death.

The 56-year-old St Kilda Hall of Famer has countless, rich memories from his 35 years in football, but few sum up the loveable rogue more than his 15-year running battle to make his photo with Macpherson a staple of his living room decor.

The no-nonsense Bungaree boy from the bush was strangely impacted by his meeting with the iconic Aussie model — and the photo that was taken to celebrate the club’s big membership announcement. “When I used to go around to the Frawleys house ... Spud used to have the barbecue going, he was so excited to have some boys around because it was a very feminine household,” McLachlan told SEN.
