No one needs to be told leafy green vegetables are good for them. (If you do: calcium, Vitamin C, lutein, smugness.) But, should we be seeking out tiny ones?

, and she wants you to know she is extremely into her greens. Specifically, her microgreens.

Microgreens are just small vegetable greens and herbs. Their size is the result of being planted closer together and harvested as seedlings, just after they've produced their first set of leaves. They are marketed as having a more concentrated nutrient and flavour content than garden variety greens.

"Sprouts are usually grown just in water, and grown for a couple of days and consumed with the seed," explains Noah Verin, director of Urban Green Sydney, a nursery which specialises in microgreens. In the US, microgreens have taken off as a standalone consumer product in the health food space . However, here the market is mainly fine dining restaurants, who buy the plants live in their pots.

"Because we've got this urban food movement, I think we're going to see a lot of small growers coming up ... It's a movement; it's going to take off really soon." With this in mind, Mr Clark says it is important to remember you can meet your nutritional requirements while eating normal vegetables."You can still reap the benefits from regular greens and vegetables, as long as you have a varied diet and meet the recommended serves as outlined by the Australian Guide to Healthy Eating," he says.

wow, like N. Kidman recommending a wrinkle cream...srsly people!

.

I have no interest in Macpherson ad her microgreens, it's just another scheme to get her name in the news.

Micro greens... so a fancy/wanky way to say sprouts?

ANYthing to grab a headline. Isn't it enough that she is blessed by Nature?

If we don't know what healthy feels/looks like If we need to be told what & when to eat If we need to be advised how much exercise to do If we do things that go against our well-being If we can't take care of ourselves Do we have a mentalhealth crisis or are we the commodity?

Elle MacPherson is an awful person.

Yawn.

'I am shocked': Maggie Beer roasts aged care food after hearing of maggots and re-used mealsCelebrity chef Maggie Beer says nothing can forgive the abysmal standard of meals given to some aged care residents as the royal commission into the sector hears evidence in Cairns. Ok Shocked. Now what is going to be done to make those responsible accountable? Bring back Council based Food Inspectors and visit every facility at a min. every 10 days with gaol/heavy fines if caught. Shocked, but not surprised. How we treat our elderly is an indication of who we are as a society. This is disgusting, I would NEVER put my parents in any of these places. To just look at this food served to residents is making me nauseated. to hear the story behind these accusations is even making me heave. It is abysmal and unforgivable given the charges relatives pay for Residential Home Care totallydisgusted shameful
