When Donald Trump leaves office, Republicans will need to find their identity in the post-Trump era.

In a historic vote today, Donald Trump became the only US president to be impeached twice.

This time, however, ten members of Mr Trump’s own party supported the effort to remove him from office.'This utter failure is inexcusable': The ten US Republicans who voted to impeach Donald TrumpNow that the House has voted to impeach Mr Trump, a trial will be held in the Senate, though the timing of this is unclear at the moment.

Nevertheless, the Republican Party will go on. And it will need to find its identity in the post-Trump era. Mr McConnell, too, could be looking ahead to rebuilding the party post-Trump, which is why he is said to be wavering on his vote to convict Mr Trump. As one Republican close to him told Axios:"If you’re McConnell, you want to be remembered for defending the Senate and the institution."The daughter of former US Vice President Dick Cheney has only been in Congress since 2017.

The reason Mr McConnell is reportedly said to be considering voting to convict Mr Trump is that is would make it easier to purge him from the party.'There must be no violence': Donald Trump releases video statement on Capitol riots after historic second impeachment

Where are these tweets that Trump sent that caused all this turmoil. Does anybody have a screenshot or a link to them, can't seem to find these tweets that are said to have caused a coup attempt.

Siri, Show me Trump inciting violence at the Capitol.

Isn’t the awakening from having sold your soul to the devil a common literary theme?! That’s exactly what Republicans have to deal with now.

70million Americans have found it already sbs , fwits .

America is finished, the communist have fooled, cheated lied and killed their way into power. In the next ten years America will fall.

The republicans are finished, they are done. It will be about 30 years before they ever see a republican president again.

One could suggest that, in a country of two ruling parties that both have morphed into agendas around winning the day, setting their own rules, never let the other side take control, that the whole political system needs to get back to representation rather than confrontation.

We’re witnessing the crumbling of an empire, the next four years will most likely seal the deal. It’ll be entertaining in its own way at least.

TRUMPS approval rating has sky rocketed. The Presidency hasn’t aged him like everyone else. He will be a political force in someway, shape or form over the next 4-8 years.

I'll save them the trouble
