Tony Abbott says Australia's trilateral security partnership with the United Kingdom and the United States indicates 'we are prepared to act to meet the common danger'.

Former Prime Minister Tony Abbott says Australia's landmark deal to acquire at least eight nuclear-powered submarines through a new trilateral security partnership sends a message to other countries of"don't mess with us".

"This shows we intend to be an all-together more serious country in the future than we've sometimes been in the past," Mr Abbott told Sky News Australia's Peta Credlin. Mr Abbott said the formation of AUKUS was the biggest decision any Australian government had made in decades and was necessary to counter China's growing aggression.

China has been increasing its military capabilities in recent years, forcing other nations to prepare for potential threats from the superpower.

3Billion down the shitter on the French deal - thanks Tones. Also thanks for shackling us to a fighter plane that can't fly in dust storms or when there is lightening.

nobody cares about Abbott's bleats

Alarmist tripe.

Tony Abbott says.. Is this the comedy chanel?

The first one built is going to be called HMAS Shirtfront

The common danger being tremendous debt under LNP/Tory governments, and Murdoch's monopolized grip on media to ensure they stay in power.

HonTonyAbbott Tony ...Isn't that the job of the ANZUS Treaty? Anyways in the fine print of the treaty it doesn't any commitment by the US to help Australia in any conflict.

Biggest threat to Australia as we used to know it ,is the enemy within .Examples Vietnam media flower power ,ABC left wing .Cov 19 constitution laws .Mandate a drug that could be withdrawn from use cov vaccine . What get's done about it nothing .

Abbott, who is your son and who is the son of your wife's lover?

Yep...just like Vietnam & Afghanistan.

Tony Abbott nothing says patriotism like advising a foreign government when we are negotiating a trade agreement.

Australia’s next economic boom will be producing arms for USA to be fired at the Chinese

So, this must be a part of the trade deal between the UK and Australia never mentioned until now.

We all feel so tough against China now 🇨🇳

Though apparently Kevin Rudd had to secure the deal after he realised the coalition couldn't deliver on the conventional subs.

They won’t be built fir 20 years, what if China attacks in 15

So glad this bloke is so irrelevant
