Sky News host Gary Hardgrave says it was “sickening to watch” the violence of the protests in the once united and now “Divided States of America”.

He said labelling Antifa a terrorist organisation would be “a step in the right direction”. “There are people now who are trying to create hatred whereas years ago in the 1960s it was all about love”. “America has gone the full course now," he said.

Former speaker of the house Bronwyn Bishop said the Black Lives Matter protests in the United States started with “genuine people who had a genuine concern” triggered by the fatal arrest of the African-American man George Floyd. She said it was groups like Antifa who have been “waiting for a riot to spark” so they could move in and “hype” the situation up until it erupts in “looting and violence”.

The public is growing tired of ‘the hypocrisy and timidity of our governments’ | Sky News AustraliaState governments are happy to shut beaches or fine people for sitting in a park yet they “don’t have the spine” to force protesters to comply with the same set of rules the rest of us are subject to according Sky News host Chris Kenny. \n\nHe said people are running out of patience with “the hypocrisy and timidity of our governments and the complicity of our media” as there are seemingly laws applied to some but not others in the country. \n\n“Through the pandemic we have had the bulk of the media, the politically correct club of journalists, led by the public broadcasters generating fear with wildly catastrophic predictions”. \n\nThey cheered “for every authoritarian lockdown measure by government” and then failed to admit when they were wrong even in the face of concerned citizens looking to keep their businesses alive and their jobs intact. \n\n “Families have had to miss out on saying farewell to loved ones because of limits on funerals but protesters can have immunity,” Mr Kenny said.\n\n“This is pathetic, this does not represent a fair go, this exposes the weakness and hypocrisy of politicians and governments.”\n\nAs many as 50,000 people are expected to take to the streets of Melbourne on Saturday to protest the death of African-American man George Floyd who was killed in police custody last week in America.\n\nImage: Getty Agree The whole thing's a farce now,bet the majority of these people will blame Cummings when most of them never respected it for more than a month tops You're not allowed to stand against the woke masses; that's political suicide.

Trump a 'threat to democracy' | Sky News AustraliaProfessor Steven Levitsky says US President Donald Trump has been a “huge blow” to democracy as the president threatens to call in the military in response to Black Lives Matter protests taking place across the country. \n\nThe President announced he was prepared to invoke the Insurrection Act of 1807 as the US heads into a 10th night of protest following the death of George Floyd in police custody. \n\n“There’s an 1807 law that allows the President to mobilise the military and send in the troops against US citizens across the country,” Mr Levitsky said. \n\n“That law has been used periodically but never seriously used to repress American citizens. \n\n“But Donald Trump, who has never exercised restraint in the use of power, is threatening to do it. \n\n“So a president who is unable, unwilling to be restrained in his use of power and his use of constitutional prerogatives is a threat to democracy and that’s what we’re facing right now.” \n\nImage: AP realDonaldTrump 'Professor' HaHaHaHa - these are the people who hide behind tenure and the faculty lounge because they can't succeed in the real world realDonaldTrump FAKE NEWS realDonaldTrump Lost me at “Professor”

State and territory governments to supplement HomeBuilder scheme | Sky News AustraliaStates and territories are preparing to supplement the federal government’s $688 million HomeBuilder scheme with their own grants in a bid to boost the housing construction sector.\n\nSky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell said state governments are keen to contribute to the scheme to drive up new home construction within their own jurisdictions. \n\n“The states are preparing to jump on top of it – WA, I’m told, with a $20,000 additional grant on top under consideration, and Tasmania similarly,” he said.\n\n“NSW is considering adding a stamp duty exemption on top, South Australia too considering its own grant on top.”\n\nUnder the proposal unveiled by Prime Minister Scott Morrison on Thursday, Australians wanting to build a new home or make major renovations will now be eligible for $25,000 grants to turbo-charge the construction industry.\n\nTo be eligible, individual applicants must earn less than $125,000 a year, or $200,000 for couples.\n \nThey must also sign a contract between July and December, and the new home can only be worth up to $750,000. \n\nThose wanting to renovate, must spend at least $150,000 on the work.\n\nMr Clennell said the construction industry is facing a 50 per cent decline in new home builds, which is why the sector wanted the government to scrap its means test.\n\n“The irony of this grant is to afford a $150,000 renovation and your mortgage, you probably have to be pretty well off – better off in a place like Sydney or Melbourne than having a household income of 200k,” he said.\n\n“If the argument was that it was required to allow more residential construction when the order books are empty, should they have been a bit more generous with the means test?”\n\nMr Clennell said while the Coalition’s scheme is primarily designed to boost the construction sector, it is another example of Prime Minister Morrison pitching his policies squarely at the political centre, in the hope Labor under Anthony Albanese will be pushed “further to the left aclennell

'No question' over US-Australia diplomatic relationship | Sky News AustraliaPerth USAsia’s Gordon Flake says there “is no question” about the strong diplomatic relationship between the two countries, after the officers that assaulted Australian journalists in Washington DC were promptly stood down.\n\nPolice attacked the Australian news team with shields and batons outside of the White House at a demonstration that turned violent, where crowds were forcibly moved away from during President Donald Trump’s address.\n\n“The US Embassy in Canberra quickly released a statement regarding freedom of the press,” Mr Flake told Sky News.\n\n“I think our allies of Australia in the US, which are many, responded to make sure this was handled quickly.”\n\nImage: AP\n That's because Scotty showed Trump his deep throat method when they met. As much as it was terrible what happened to those reporters, I think it would be wise to look at the bigger picture. They might have deliberately put themselves in harms way. Also they’re from the 7 network owned by Kerry Stokes. Need I say more. Where is the comparison !
