Disability carer charged with manslaughter over death of Adelaide woman Ann Marie Smith

A carer for disabled Adelaide woman Ann Marie Smith has been charged with manslaughter over the 54-year-old's death.

Detective Superintendent Des Bray said it was alleged she died of serious criminal neglect and her death was preventable."We have built a picture of Annie's life since the death of her parents in 2009," Det Supt Bray said.

For all we know The Public Trustee is to blame here, but because they are protected by secrecy we can't know for sure. Similar has happened regularly in the past.

Our most vulnerable are not being protected by the for profit sector under NDIS. Where is the safeguarding, where is duty of care and why will NDIS not fund Social Workers to ensure safety of people living with Disability? RIP Ms Ann Marie Smith
