Just before 8pm, emergency services were called to McGrane Way at Tullamore, north-west of Parkes, where two vehicles were found trapped in heavy floodwaters.
NSW Police said local SES and Rural Fire Services managed to rescue four people who were found clinging to trees to avoid dangerous currents.A five-year-old child is reportedly missing in NSW floodwaters near Tullamore, north-west of Parkes, police have said. "Officers from Central West Police District, along with officers from local SES and Rural Fire Services with a flood boat and ambulance paramedics attended and managed to rescue four people, who were clinging to trees to escape from the flood waters," Police said in a statement.
"Police have been told that a five year child from one of the vehicles has not yet been accounted for."Police said the two vehicles remain submerged in floodwaters and officers will remain onsite and wait until they can access the cars. Areas of Tullamore and the Central West Police District have been subject to heavy rainfall over the past 24 hours.According to Bureau of Meteorology, flood warnings are current for the following areas: Tweed, Wilsons, Clarence, Bellinger, Nambucca, Macleay, Orara, Upper Macintyre, Macintyre, Gwydir, Peel, Namoi, Castlereagh, Macquarie, Bogan, Lachlan, Murrumbidgee, Belubula, Culgoa, Birrie, Bokhara, Narran, Warrego, Paroo, Darling and Upper Murray, Murray and Edward Rivers.
