Veteran Darius Boyd revelled in his return to full-back, setting up four tries for the Broncos but his efforts were undone by the Sharks in the 76th minute. The defeat was harsh on the Broncos, who had looked good for a much-needed win after doubles to Richard Kennar and Kotoni Staggs had given them an eight-point lead in the second half.

Broncos youngster Dearden was also placed on report for a high shot on Siosifa Talakai early in the second half.Just days after waving goodbye to four players who left the country to return home to their families, the Warriors showed great resilience to hold firm through a nervy final five minutes in the round-12 clash.

The Warriors have now been in Australia for almost three months but they showed plenty of spirit on Friday night after they conceded two early tries. Hiku got the Warriors moving in the second half when he lowered the scores by pushing his way through three Tigers to score on the left edge.
