Key suppliers of rapid COVID-19 tests to Australian pharmacies say orders for as many as 40 million kits will arrive progressively before the middle of next month, helping meet a surge in demand.
The agreement by national cabinet to supply free tests to pension and healthcare cardholders is backed by scheduled orders of 16 million kits by January 31, and another 33 million in February. “There were a couple of flights delayed because of the volcanic ash cloud from Tonga. Sounds like BS to me. Unless they are genomic sequencing every test (highly unlikely) then there would be no way to robustly test prevalence and transmission of the different strains. This is not 'following the science'.
