Positive coronavirus cases in the United Kingdom may no longer be required to self-isolate with close contacts and mask rules to be relaxed in certain settings, under the government's plans to learn to live with the virus.

"Lots of legal requirements were put in place during the pandemic," a senior government source told the newspaper. "As we come into a stage where things are more manageable and those legal restrictions may no longer be necessary, we will look to remove them promptly from the statute book.Mr Johnson is set to ease Plan B coronavirus restrictions including the guidance to work from home and vaccination passports or negative tests to enter nightclubs and large events, however some face mask rules may remain.
