Humble suburban shopping centres could soon come to the rescue of companies struggling to get workers back into offices due to physical distancing restrictions.

"One of our clients is a shopping centre owner who had a large retailer de-camp leaving behind a big space and it's unlikely they will be filled by retail tenants," he said.

"Shopping centres have everything the city has without the tall buildings. They have food courts, doctors, dentists, and loads of carparking."Mr Elliot said one of the main issues was not only space but the inability to use elevators with physical distancing rules. "Distancing in lifts is impossible and it creates long lines of people trying to get to work in high-rises," he said."Trying to get everyone to work in the same location in inner Sydney is an issue at the moment," Mr Elliot said.

"In Brisbane the jobs growth in suburban areas is better, outstripping the inner-city by two or three times, so the River City may be able to handle things a little easier.""It would take three hours for all our staff to get up to the 37th floor in our building as only two people can be in the lift at one time. Makes sense to look further afield." —"The cheaper option is to work from home as there's still the existing rental for the original office space.

Back to the 70’s when SA government had hubs in Payneham, Tranmere, Newton & Campbelltown

Are people so stupid that they just follow useless rules which now proves to have failed 'spectacularly', not surprising given its complete unscientific garbage! So, use your brains and STOP FOLLOWING nonsensical rules like destructive social distancing or lockdowns! Simple.

Interesting idea since retail is dead. It would certainly help with the traffic congestion.

Imagine TheirABC inner-city dwelling Leftards selling their multi-million dollar Ultimo headquarters and working out of suburban shopping centres. No, neither can I.

No need. End the lockdown. Go back to work. End social isolation policies. Problem solved.

Fast food giants roll out staff temperature checksSome workers at fast food chains including McDonald's and Domino's Pizza face a new ritual when they start their shifts: temperature scans to check whether they have a fever. Its probably a good idea for a lot of workplaces to do temperature checks, as long as workers get paid sick leave if they get sent home. Many people go to work with cold & flu symptoms anyway, they shouldn't have to.But menstrual/hormonal issues can raise temperature too! auspol Forgot workers temperature checks I wish McDonald’s would also check their fries were piping hot & fresh all the time rather than limp and lukewarm
