Many parents are vowing to take up the role as 'teacher' amid the pandemic. 9News

A home-schooling boom could be underway for Victoria as providers reveal they have been inundated with enquiries from parents following the conclusion of online remote learning.

More than 6,000 children are registered for home-schooling in the state, but this figure could rise due to parents vowing to take up the role as 'teacher' amid the coronavirus pandemic. Melbourne parents Rebecca and Chris Romeril told 9News they had made the decision to pull their four primary school aged children out of mainstream school and their youngest out of kindergarten after two months of remote learning."The remote learning really showed me how my kids learnt," Mrs Romeril said.

"All I ever wanted to be was a mum so I said well if I can spend more time with my children and be their mum and their teacher and everything in between, well why not?""You get home 6pm at night and they're still doing stuff because they choose to," he said.

No evidence of coronavirus losing potency, WHO and other experts sayWorld Health Organisation experts and a range of other scientists say there is no evidence to support an assertion by a high-profile Italian doctor that the coronavirus causing the COVID-19 pandemic has been losing potency. Looters now lining up at hospitals with the virus? Many people are behaving as though the viral threat is over but the number of deaths just continue climbing globally and with this much social activity, I fear it's gonna get a whole lot worse. They don't want it to end just yet.

Fashion magazine makes powerful cover statementBritish Vogue has paid tribute to essential workers by sharing three covers featuring those who have been working on the front line of the coronavirus pandemic. It might not have been intentional but honestly, today of all days, you might have wanted to feature one of the other two covers as your lead photo. 3 courageous women, 2 black, and you choose the white woman. It’s not even a “law-of-averages” argument. Well done for featuring everyday hardworking people rather than those being paid a fortune to go on the cover.
