Ms Credlin said the Chinese communist government’s behavior is “just getting worse and worse with the rule of law now abrogated in Hong Kong”. “As always, the best way to stop a bully, is to make him fear the consequences, of his bad behavior”. She said it was good that Australia is “beefing up” our military’s offensive capabilities and the government’s recent boosting of our cyber defences.

Ms Credlin also said while she is “no fan of our recent record immigration levels,” there are instances when “humanitarian and strategic considerations outweigh short term economic downsides”. “And there's no doubt that Chinese people from Hong Kong, educated in English and committed to the rule of law, would readily adapt to life here and quickly become wonderful Australians”. FrinksterFrink you sure that's not America?

Credlin remains doubtless blissfully ignorant of the irony of her calling out bullying

They kill people. They're true evil.

Good on Australia in considering a resettlement program for HK people whose bravery and pursue of freedom are well respected. HK has been the foundation of CCP’s rise and now CCP is burning the bridge. These social-capital underpin the success and prosperity of HK.

Yes it should. It feels safe behind the capitalists, politicians and media outlets that it's bought. When they're revealed and removed, the CCP will stand alone. Propaganda allows even the most disgusting regime to appear as an accountable govt. Unacceptable. COVID IPAC

Well Credlin then go to China and prove yourself you really care by speaking up against them there

HK nation law - one 🌍 one system ( Communist party) any blame HK, all defended ~~~~~~ according to Clause 38.

China no longer fears anyone or anything. They've even stopped pretending to be concerned about world opinion. Who should they fear? No one in the West... we're too concerned with BLM, climate change, refugees and million other tear jerking social issues. China is laughing at us

Melbourne_3000 Their is not a country in the world who will interfere with in China's borders. Maybe American 'protesters' should go help them out....

How?

I expect this is an honest mistake by Peta Credlin, however Hong Kong citizen's do NOT consider themselves to be Chinese. This is very important to the people of Hong Kong.

The hypocrisy of Credlin talking about bullying and 'brutilising minorities' ...

Dumb as a friggin bag of rocks!

It just shows everyone we are not a racist country. We don’t care what you look like of who you pray to (if you do at all). We care about fellow humans and can take them on if they are capable and willing to accept our culture, laws and way of life. The CCP, that’s another story!

Sky News acts like how they characterise China when it comes to: racism, LGBTQIA+ rights, environmental protection, Greta Thunberg, the ABC, anything vaguely 'lefty', Labor, the Greens, whistleblowers, movements towards equality, fair taxation, immigration, Yassmin Abdel-Magied..

The Credlin calling for action against those who brutalise minorities? How good’s self awareness?

Tell me. Have we now made China the enemy because ASIO said that, you know, most of the terrorists now are white Nationalists and we can't have that?

It’s their country ffs.. stop poking your nose in

400 ppl arrested? We need to follow every single one to ensure they go back to their lives and dont 'disappear'

China doesn’t fear diddly....squat

Surely people will agree with Peta? Or will it just be personal attacks and insults. We just want to know your thoughts on the subject matter in the tweet, not all the stuff people have noted hundreds of times already about Peta.

Hypocritical bastards, where is the rage, for Palestinians, who endure continuing authoritarian rule from Israel. Australian govt, support Apartheid, Ethnic Cleansing, annexation and murdering of unarmed Palestinians just trying to survive.

PetulantCredlin must be made to fear the consequences of her actions as she continues “brutilising minorities” ellymelly Hit & run attacks on minorities must stop from Bolt_RSS Mitchell ozcrimenews ?! 🐷🐷🐷👹👌👌👌🔥🔥🔥🐲😤🤮🤢🦠🐒👇👇👇🙅‍♂️

Ironic that Peta Credlin claims to stand for 'brutalised minorities' She's only spent the last 15+ years playing a part in demonising minorities in Australia in the wider political and media sphere

Hong Kong ruled by a 'climate of fear' | Sky News AustraliaCNN reporter Kristie Lu Stout says Hong Kong is possessed by a “climate of fear” after China imposed sweeping new national security laws. \n\nNearly 400 Hong Kong residents were arrested by police for protesting controversial new laws which criminalise secession, subversion of state power, terrorism and conspiring with foreign powers.\n\nPeople found breaking the laws could face a lifetime in prison and applied to everyone, including people who were not permanent Hong Kong residents. \n\nMs Stout told Sky News Hong Kong’s Chief Executive Carrie Lam described the laws as “designed not to punish but to deter people from committing serious crimes”.\n\n“It’s doing just that,” Ms Stout said. \n\n“It’s creating a chilling effect and its really preventing a lot of people who would normally protest last year… from going out.\n\n“We’re seeing this drawback in support in the virtual world – we’re also seeing it in the real world.” \n\nImage: AP I can't help thinking this is a mistake for China. If a lot of Hong Kong's population ups and leaves they'll take a lot of capital and acumen with them. China would be better off sticking to the 2 systems arrangements it committed to. CNN ? Oh - the Communist News Network 1-2,Naive Australian journalists and politicians, if you continue ignoring the facts about CCP, you will be the primary targets of this devil.

John Howard warns China is becoming ‘more authoritarian’ under Xi Jinping | Sky News AustraliaFormer prime minister John Howard has warned China is becoming more authoritarian under President Xi Jinping’s leadership, with Beijing increasingly determined to “throw its weight around” the Asia-Pacific region.\n\n In an exclusive interview with Sky News, Mr Howard said China has changed significantly since his tenure as prime minister. \n\n'Under President Xi Jinping’s two predecessors, Hu Jintao Jiang Zemin, China's attitude towards the west was very different,' he said. \n\n'They were both dedicated communist, Marxist, Leninist and so forth, no doubt about that, but they looked for cooperation, and you saw the possibility of building, pragmatically albeit, building a close relationship between the two countries and the west. \n\n'But under Xi Jinping, China has become more authoritarian internally, it is more assertive in the region, it is throwing its weight around. \n\n'And we have to recognise that, and consistent with that, continue to toil away at keeping the bilateral relationship together. \n\n'It’s very important we don't give up a practical relationship with China.' \n\nAustralia and China’s bilateral relationship has soured since the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis. \n\nThe worsening of trade relations comes as Australia was the first nation to call for an independent investigation into the origins of COVID-19. \n\nChina recently slapped an 80 per cent tariff on barley producers, banned four beef exporters and urged its students not to study in Australia. \n\nBeijing has also been more assertive in the region, exemplified by its decision to make it illegal for anyone in Hong Kong to engage in secessionist, subversive, or 'terrorist' activities. \n\nExperts claim the new law breaches the Sino-British Joint Declaration which was signed in 1984, which gave Hong Kong almost full autonomy for 50 years after Britain handed the territory back to China in 1997. \n\nMr Howard said the Morrison government was right to announce a $270 billion boost to defence pretty sure we didnt need Howard to tell us that John Howard is not quite finished. Half Howard policies fucked this country l hope remembers work choices people don’t forget it Scotty better remember that

Indonesia trade deal 'not a pivot away from China': Birmingham | Sky News AustraliaMinister for Trade Simon Birmingham says a new trade deal with Indonesia is not a pivot away from China but “an expansion of opportunity”. \n\n“Australian governments have, for decades, sought to try to deepen ties with Indonesia and under our government we have managed to sign a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement with Indonesia,” he said. \n\nMr Birmingham said the trade deal, which will mean 99 per cent of Australian goods will enter Indonesia duty-free or under improved agreements, will come into force this Sunday.\n\nHe said the deal was great news for the Australian agriculture industry and diplomatic relations with Indonesia. \n\nMeanwhile, the federal government will spend $240 million to extend support for air freight flights to help farmers and fishers export their fresh produce overseas.\n\nThe funding boost will deliver $3 billion-worth of produce to key international markets after COVID-19 restrictions cancelled flights.\n\nMr Birmingham told Sky News “we know that our farmers and our exporters work so hard to lock in export contracts and the last thing we want is for them to lose those contracts because they don’t have planes that they can put their premium produce on”. \n\n“Under our government we’re routinely exporting more as a country than we import and we’re determined to make sure we keep that trend going,” he said. \n\n\n Birmo Buy Australian 1st if possible!
