Former MP and billionaire Clive Palmer will lodge documents with the High Court this week, arguing Western Australia's border closure is unconstitutional.

Clive Palmer will lodge documents with the High Court this week, arguing Western Australia's border closure is unconstitutional, as the state again recorded no new cases of COVID-19.

"The WA premier needs to act now to ensure a successful future beyond COVID-19 by opening his borders to allow trade and travel from Australian states into WA.Mr Palmer said he would lodge the legal documents on Monday and hoped to have a directions hearing in the High Court by the end of the week. The premier has continued to insist WA's interstate borders will remain closed for months, despite criticism from some, including NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian. There have been more than 76,000 COVID-19 tests performed in WA.

Testing for coronavirus is now widely available across Australia. If you are experiencing cold or flu symptoms, arrange a test by calling your doctor or contact the Coronavirus Health Information Hotline on 1800 020 080.

WA doesn't want your 'help' Palmer. You should realize from the last time you ran how little people want you to be involved in anything.

CliveFPalmer

Clive palmer is an idiot. Rated right up there with trump

Good. And high court should agree. There is no case for shutting borders. The covid rates are so low the hospitals are set up. Fed govt ought to join and support the application as should NSW government

Can we launch a class action against his very questionable activities in the last federal election?

Freight and persons with a permit have no problem at the border.

what a twit....

Clive is a silly old fool. Hope he does his money. WA is doing the right thing, so is SA and QSLD. The Premiers are protecting the health and well being of their states people. We the people thank our Premiers for keeping us safe. Be sure ,not sorry. Dont rush it.

I'd have thought buying elections was far more unconstitutional

What a toe-rag!

be careful Clive, your actions may dig up the past and the doubt over WA ever officially becoming part of Australia

Fake plandemic is running out of steam.

What a grub!

All that money and his shirts are still see-through

A drug pusher of the unproven Trump wonder drug that increases death rates. Dr Palmer and Dr Trump are both dangerous and should not get press coverage.

Is that before or after he attends court for his criminal cases?

Good.

He is wasting his time and money, there is an exemption in place if borders are closed for health reasons.

Lodge documents ? Clive wont rely on just one section. Because when it comes to violations they dont come any BIGGER:

Costing Australians money to fight him in court. Just because he had a hissy fit due to not getting his way!

Is he both a former MP AND a former billionaire? Serious question. Cause I kinda think he is.

Trouble maker. He thinks he could do whatever he wants.

Spend that money paying your workers

👏👏👏👏👏👏✅✅✅

Former billionaire?

Can he pay his workers then ?or is it one rule for one and another for him ?

Keep him out. We don’t want the miserable fat f$k in WA

What a waste of time and money this man is.

Pity we can’t ask the High Court to find Palmer unconstitutional. I can’t stomach him at all. More lines suggest themselves...

Headline: Boring ClivePalmer suffers Relevance Deprivation Syndrome.

wendoureeswans Doesn't he have criminal charges against himself pending?

Imagine if that money were used to bring the family HometoBilo or to help work out how to stop DV or into coronavirusaustralia research?

How would one order a drone strike...? Asking for a friend.

He just has to prove his wealth helps to control us because he doesn’t care about the common good - evilness personified

And let’s hope the HCA dismiss this as a frivolous and vexatious waste of time. Which it is. Palmer’s lawyers would gladly take fees for this nothing burger.

Clive Palmer (former MP) must have had a chat with Dutton and Hanson - as they're on a similar path about Queensland. Guess they have to keep their legal teams busy (sarcasm). auspol Covid19

Unconstitutional is not paying your workers and then using that money to sabotage the election process. Unconstitutional is that floating fart of an excuse for a human being who is one heart attack away from non existence.

I’m ‘Batting’ for WA - HaHa ... I’d Want to keep Clive out as well. Unconstitutional !!!! The Man has No Shame !!!!

Clive Palmer should be sued by the government every time he wastes the courts time attempting to enrich himself

Grade A c*ck knuckle

everyone else is ok with it but dumbasses aren't

I really hope that his legal team hasn't put all of their eggs on the vibe.

🙄Pathetic.

How about he lodge 'em somewhere else?

Ahhh SBS News always brings out the idiot's

I want to sue him if he comes to WA for forcing a Slomo Government on us ? 😏

Time to pay those workers entitlements Clive. They're owed.

Someone’s got too much money. How about paying tax?

Just take the hint, Clive. 😏

Can clive crawl into a hole?

Rich jerk.

The states must do the following. They must allow free trade; they must however, protect the safety of both state, and people.

No he won’t

If this man had the sense to match his money he'd be dangerous.

what a fool. We don't want Clive or his trump snake oil bs in WA.

this arsehole has too much money and not enough to spend it on

Tell him to take some of his hydroxychloroquine and relax, he can telecommute like the rest of us.

Real man-of-the-people type action to take

Good - go for it !

Isn't he under investigation for corruption?

imagine being this hard up for something to do

He has to climb over a hill of tablets first

Should states ditch COVID-19 border restrictions? Even medical experts can't agree on that oneThe question of whether Australian states and territories should remove their COVID-19 border closures is becoming increasingly contentious — and even leading medical experts can't agree on the answer. Maybe leave it up to the states? We elect them to do their best for their constituents, let them do it. So far most of them have done a pretty good job, listening to the expert opinions. Each state can judge for itself what it should do in its circumstances. This line says it all. It’s definitely not medical advice if the strategy was suppression. 'I think the premiers of Queensland and Western Australia have made it very clear in the media that it is going to be their decision.' auspol Let's use NSW as test move Clive, Pauline , Dutton and all who want open up early there and open everything up and see what happens

Climate change causing it.. How many once in a decade storms do WA get in a year? A tornado went through the town I was living in in 1993, nothing like it again in the remaining 7 years I was there

I’m not really sure Australia is that upset we lost one US chain to be rebranded by another US chain. They wonder why retail stores are dying. They are literally all the same. heck yeah, tassie keeps most of ours, glad to see we still support underpaying workers :)) So they’d close the stores the regions most rely on.
