Michael Cheika has weighed into the pay stalemate involving Australia’s top rugby players, suggesting Rugby Australia needs to be more transparent and show strong leadership | tomdecent

Cheika, who coached the Wallabies from 2014 to 2019 and at two Worlds Cups before standing down after Australia’s quarter-final exit last year, was quizzed on the issue of potential pay cuts, which are yet to be sorted between RA and RUPA.

“It’s a difficult situation to be in, number one,” Cheika said. “There’s not really a handbook or a playbook. I think some of the principles around general leadership are really important.

tomdecent “Be more transparent and show strong leadership...”? I look forward to the day when those who want change in RA stop hiding behind these vapid rhetorical formulations and say what they actually think. Repeating this boilerplate, management textbook guff is useless.

tomdecent And employ better coaches? smh SMHsport RugbyAUS

Greenberg slammed for petty pay cutWests Tigers centre Joseph Leilua has condemned NRL CEO Todd Greenberg for sending “mixed messages” to players regarding his pay cut amid the coronavirus epidemic. Have to agree with the players. If they are to take a 75% pay cut so should all involved in the NRL as without the PLAYERS there is NO league!!!!!! Would you expect anything less from this arrogant maggot, who has single handed made the NRL a political tool for his leftist agenda. A pathetic administrator. Except that the CEO is working his butt off during this time of crisis, trying to make sure the players have a job to come back to, while Joey 'best in the game' Leilua sits on his ass doing nothing for the betterment of anybody. If the CEO had no work to do, then sure, same cut
