Former NBA champion Andrew Bogut says he believes changing the date of Australia Day will “mean nothing” and will just “move the goalpost”.

“I just think this has become very political, very divisive for both sides.”

The Rogue Bogues Podcast host said trying to cancel other people’s right to celebrate Australia Day is also “not very inclusive”.

‘Too scared’: Andrew Bogut reveals more NBL players were against pride jerseyFormer NBA champion Andrew Bogut has revealed there were players outside of the Cairns Taipans team who also disagreed with the NBL’s pride round jersey. Several Taipans players were allegedly considering not wearing the pride jersey, which led to the club ultimately pulling out of the plan entirely due to harmful commentary directed toward their players. “It is sold as ‘everyone must do it’ and this is what happens when you have two or three people that don’t, it just causes absolute shockwaves and the media jumps all over it, they love the division and the talking point of this,” Mr Bogut told Sky News host Paul Murray. “I’m for freedom of choice on it, so if someone wants to support it then by all means, but this whole thing that it was just two or three players – I know for a fact there were more than that in the league that were kind of like ‘oh, that is kind of against my beliefs’. “They were too scared to not go ahead with it, but that is not just the Cairns Taipans, I know that for a fact.” WTF is going on? Is everyone becoming brainwashed all at the same time? Sports people have now become vehicles of cultural Marxism instead of sport. I dont see why anyone should be forced to support something they dont believe or agree with. If they are proud of who they are then thats on them but others shouldn't be forced to share the same ideals

Ignoring Australia Day is about railing ‘against Australia’ and its ‘very existence’: Chris KennyChanging or ignoring the date of Australia Day is all about “railing against Australia” and its “very existence”, says Sky News host Chris Kenny. “We did become a country. We should celebrate that as we work to make it even better for everyone,” he said. “None of these organisations campaigning against the very notion, the actual history of this nation, our identity as Australia, none of them should use the name at all.” Damn, that's stupid 😬 True 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🖕

Anything can be stopped and it’s still part of history. So I guess that’s all wrapped up, let’s leave it in history where it belongs No one is saying erase it , just change the date

‘Very unlikely’ Australia Day is being celebrated for the ‘atrocities of the past’Former NBA champion Andrew Bogut says he finds it very unlikely people are celebrating Australia Day because of the “atrocities of the past”. He said it is possible a “small minority of morons” would be celebrating it for this reason. “For the most part, I’ve got naturalised Australians that are not from Australia who see that day as a very special day for them because it was the day they got enshrined, got the citizenship,” he told Sky News host Paul Murray. “I think 99 plus per cent of people are having a barbeque, having a beer and catching up with mates and not what it has been made out to be as kind of Invasion Day.” The Rogue Bogues Podcast host added people should stop trying to “cancel other people’s joy”. Correct. Bullshit💩 from former NBA champion Andrew Bogut - says 'he finds it very unlikely people are celebrating Australia Day because of the atrocities of the past”. MORE Australian's are CELEBRATING Australia Day that aren't! Absolutely!
