Two pet dogs have been found dead in their yard in north Queensland in a suspected poison bait incident after their owners received threatening letters, with police warning residents to keep children safe while playing outside.
The Queensland Police Service said it was investigating the incident, after a resident of Glenella in Mackay arrived home on Saturday night to find one of his dogs, a Jack Russell terrier named Jackie, in an agitated state.Senior Constable Stephen Smith said the owner then found his other terrier, Lucky, dead the following day.
"The second dog [Lucky] was found the next morning — it had put itself among a number of pot plants that were on the block and that's where that dog passed as well," he said.
So it is a male living within 100 meters (earshot of dog barks) of the location. Not hard to solve that mystery surely?
