I am glad to see this as proof that our legal system does eventually recognise “Beyond reasonable doubt”. He may or may not have been guilty; but the evidence at trial never proved it.

Would hardly call it a shock judgment. The court of appeal decision was split 2-1, so it has been seen as legally questionable for quite awhile. The fact that it was a unanimous 7-0 decision in the High Court speaks volumes.
