Canterbury CEO Andrew Hill says the Bulldogs will not be pursuing Roosters centre Latrell Mitchell as he tests his value on the open market.
"Thank you to everyone that's on my side and are supporting me. I really do appreciate it. Doesn't go unnoticed," he wrote. The Bulldogs have been linked with Mitchell for much of 2019 but they have moved to douse links with the 22-year-old after the international held a meeting with a Canterbury official in recent weeks."However, with all the speculation around this matter we thought it was the right thing to do by everyone to confirm we won’t pursue an interest in Latrell Mitchell."
The club remains well and truly in the market for at least one marquee player in 2021 when its salary cap pressure eases further, but most of its 2020 cap has already been spent.
_Bulldogs dan_walsh64 Saw that coming!
_Bulldogs Very disappointing!
_Bulldogs dan_walsh64 Cronulla_Sharks need a goal kicker.....a 5/8..... a starting front rower.......a fullback. Just saying
BradWalterSport _Bulldogs dan_walsh64 Young, fast, strong, goal kicker, rep player, nahhhhh, not good enough for the _Bulldogs to sign. We don’t need a marquee/x factor player
_Bulldogs dan_walsh64 I just heard the latest regarding Latrell. He took a shit at 3.15pm.
_Bulldogs dan_walsh64 Deluded as to his value, maybe the Toronto Wolfpacks will pay the overs, imagine that centre pairing, Sonny Bill has been and Latrell never was.
_Bulldogs dan_walsh64 He only wants to play fullback now because he's realised (or been told) that the better fullbacks such as Trbojevic and Tedesco are getting more money than he can get playing centre. He couldn't hand't fullback at the Chooks, that's why they went after Tedesco.
dan_walsh64 _Bulldogs Good. I think the alarm bells are ringing loud and clear.
