On a wing and a prayer, Pip the dachshund stranded in the United States for five months finally arrived home in Sydney on Tuesday night.

reported on Sunday how Pip was stranded in North Carolina in March. The family were on a "sea change" around-the-world sailing expedition but had to abandon their yacht and the voyage due to tightening COVID-19 restrictions. Pip then went to stay at the home of Mrs Eilbeck's brother in West Brunswick. Subsequent flights last Saturday and on Monday were also cancelled.

"We fly almost 30,000 pets around Australia each year and there's nothing quite like bringing home our furry friends. During these difficult times it's nice to be able to put a smile on someone’s face and I know it was a real joy for our team to come to the rescue."

ebooktim Hope we have the same compassion for people seeking asylum coming to Australia; the thousands of people in this country denied a pathway to permanent residency & the millions of people across the world sacrificed by autocratic leaders to COVID-19.

ebooktim Great story but what a nightmare having to put your pet in Quarantine for 10 days in Melbourne because the Australian Government is paranoid about rabies. It's cruel. They make $2000 by the way! Put ScottMorrisonMP in a cage for 10 days and see how he feels. PETA

Newlywed couple comes to the rescue to help stranded toddler homeAfter a separation prolonged by the coronavirus pandemic, a mother has been reunited with her three-year-old daughter in Adelaide, thanks to the kindness of strangers who brought her home. This is one example, there are many more stranded kids, couples, families still desperately waiting. We are talking about fellow Australians not international travellers. IStillCallAustraliaHome Good samaritans! But I find this strange, and i have heard of this before many times, where the parents offload their first born/underage school kid to their parents back home until convenient. Could be many reasons - cost effective, next baby is due, interferes with work etc. What a lovely story and it sounds like Prisha deserves a medal for being so good.
