The Department of Home Affairs says Australian bushfires will become more severe due to climate change.

Officials will front a Senate Inquiry into the country's 'Black Summer' today to discuss preparation and planning.

Experts will warn future seasons will begin earlier, last longer and have worsening impacts on communities. The 'Black Summer' fires killed 33 people, destroyed more than 3000 homes and razed almost 13 million hectares. Image: News Corp Australia

Greedy councils allowing new allotments in eucalyptus forest and not allowing or doing any clearing is the no 1 cause of major bush fires. Also locked gates and decentralised fire services. Record snowfall predicted this year but according to climate models no snow after 2000.

How about we actually manage the fuel load from now on instead of letting it build to catastrophic levels?

There is no climate change and there will be no need for vaccine as virus is dying out (same scammers behind both) If politicians tell you you have no freedom unless vaccine.

Maybe, but it will have nothing to do with global warming or C02. And perhaps arsonists will give up lighting 🔥.

Let’s look at Australian bushfire history? Remember Eucalypts are nature’s most potent fuel, are quiet clever and love fire! Our indigenous Australians have been managing the land forever. So much evidence out there 😊

People with commonsense believe bushfires will be more severe and prevalent if burn offs don’t occur and there are more arsonist lighting fires on days over 30 degrees with strong northerly winds.

Rot! Do back burning for a start. Clear the forest floors which haven’t been done since locking the parks. Let owners clear their own bloody land-especially the gum trees which are ‘dangerous incinerators dressed up as trees’ but as the ABC said, you can’t control the weather!

Why are Co2 rising in the shutdown? Man made?

Sky News claim the fire severity hadnt changed at all.

So they have got one thing correct. Yay them.

Duh

Just fuckoff

*Correction. Bushfires will become more severe to due to inner city bureaucrats thinking they know more about the forests than those who live in and around forests.

Bullshit!!! If the authorities such as RFS were allowed to control back burning operations instead of being hampered by the Greens & do-gooders of the green leaf, then things would be much better. Seriously a load of crap. Bushfires have always been part of Australia's DNA.

Try a decent back burn for 2 years...if that doesn’t lessen the impact of fires, you can have the next 1 million to work on the CC schtick😉

Well the science has only been telling us this for 30 years. Any chance we can just get around to doing something about it ClimateAction

Do these tools ever look back at Australian history

This is fake news. The so called experts are simply lefty beaurocrats.

So total propaganda.

Blame the greens

Anything about the huge build up of fuel due to reduced burn-offs? Anything about all the locked gates? Most of these fires were in the national parks, any proposed shake up of NPWS management yet? Or are we going to sheet it all back to climate change?

🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

👍

What a croc of manure

Absolute Rubbish. Rather these days increasing populations building & living in Known bushfire risk areas.

Ho hum

Oh, I thought you folks said fires are because the lefty state govts weren’t raking up all the leaves....

We new that this was true in 1939. Black Friday. High winds and bushfires following serious drought. Must have been due to climate change.

Just jail the arsonists and the problem is solved

Soooo... what you’re saying is that there will be another terrorist threat from illegals lighting more fires to make it look like climate change? There were articles from newspapers in 2008 about illegals lighting fires. Those articles have disappeared apparently from archives.

Lies

Indigenous leaders say Australia'sbushfire crisis shows Indigenous leaders, who have been warning about a bushfire crisis for years, are calling for a radical change to how land is managed as Australia faces some of its worst bushfire conditions on

Probably a bad time to have a government chockful of economic & environmental vandals and climatechange deniers then...

Lies, lies lies

BS !

have harsher penalties for the arsonists, like 6 months mandatory jail. That will solve a large number of bushfires.

Yeah no worries....I’m freezing my balls off in May...

Yeah, that call was made 20 years ago. We knew but all the LNP was cut more and more funding to fire services across Australia.

Those pesky fire starters sure are brazen

Humbug.

That’s bs

yes. the climate does change. nothing anyone can do about that. will bushfires get worse as a result? 50/50 chance it may even get less severe. will politicians do the right thing? hell no! they will say what they need to to get re-elected

Scientists have been consistent with their predictions, it’s always the opposite, it will be a long time before another catastrophic bushfire!

Well well well. Announced by you like it's a big surprise. Meanwhile you still broadcast clowns like Bolt & Dean and expect everyone to take you seriously.

What a lot of bullshit. The planet is entering the next 'Little Ice Age' Notice the early snow season this year The record snowfall last ski season?

Blame game ,not control measures .Is the motto of modern governments .

Some people in politics & the media should be changed with manslaughter, that would stop the lies being peddled about climate change & its effects. auspol

DanJCass Cue outrage about: - Cosmic rays, Grand Solar Minimum, Milankovic cycles, Late Ordovician glaciation ... 🙄😉

Enough with this sick agenda of climate scam!

When all else fails blame the climate don’t blame the management of the forests

Call of the century. What amazing insight.

DanJCass This is not news. Scientists have been telling us this for decades but like morons we just continue to ignore them. It's about time we listened to the smart kids in the class. covid_19 climate bushfires

Climate change is the new religion

We’ve got almost nothing left to burn... I suspect we will have to wait for fuel load to increase before we suffer a fire like 2019 again.

WTF would those fools know?

Bullshit

Bushfire Royal Commission hears first witness | Sky News AustraliaThe royal commission into Australia’s bushfire crisis is underway after hearing its first witness give evidence on the impact of climate change on the bushfire season. \n\nDr Karl Braganza spoke on Monday about how climate change contributed to the devastating bushfires, saying two major weather events impacted Australia directly. \n\nHe said a positive Indian dipole led to a drier winter in the south, and a negative southern annular mode resulted in higher temperatures and less rainfall across the eastern seaboard. \n\nThe royal commission is also due to hear from CSIRO and GeoScience Australia on Monday about climate change. \n\nImage: News Corp Australia Will they look into whether MAFFS packages on our C-130s would have helped? Arson 🤫 Did they say when climate change started? Was it around about the same time as the first recorded bushfire in Aus? Numbskulls. Or did they have no explanation as to why bushfires were happening before colonisation?

Royal Commission into summer's bushfires ‘at risk of being a complete waste of time’ | Sky News AustraliaSky News host Chris Kenny says it has been worrying and “depressingly predictable” that the public hearings of the royal commission into the summer’s bushfires started with the topic of climate change. \n\nOn Monday, the royal commission into Australia’s bushfire crisis commenced after hearing its first witness give evidence on the impact of climate change on the bushfire season.\n\nDr Karl Braganza spoke about how climate change contributed to the devastating bushfires, saying two major weather events impacted Australia directly.\n\nMr Kenny said the royal commission’s climate focus “is a waste of time, a waste of energy and a needless sop to the political agitators”. \n\n“What we need from this commission is a focus on what we can control,” Mr Kenny said. \n\nHe said the lessons “we’ve always known” must instead be addressed, namely “keeping fuel loads down in critical areas, ensuring homeowners make their properties safe, making sure planners impose safe separation between bushland and settlements and improving communications and evacuation plans”. \n\n“Unless we get strong recommendations on these issues, the royal commission will be a waste of time”. \n\nImage: Getty \n How shocking that a paid mouthpiece is saying what he's paid to say. stooges auspol Opinion: Forget the ClimateChange Crap...I got two words for the commission!...FUEL REDUCTION!!! FUEL REDUCTION!!! FUEL REDUCTION!!! FUEL REDUCTION!!! FUEL REDUCTION!!! FUEL REDUCTION!!! FUEL REDUCTION!!! FUEL REDUCTION!!! FUEL REDUCTION!!! FUEL REDUCTION!!! FUEL REDUCTION!!! This royal commission is a total waste of taxpayers money, if all they are going to do is base their recommendations on bunch of flawed climate models. When are these idiots going to realise that not one single climate model has ever correctly predicted long term climate change.

Black summer bushfire smoke killed nearly 450 people, royal commission hearsHealth experts tell the Bushfire Royal Commission smoke from the Black Summer bushfires that raged across Australia killed nearly 450 people and affected 80 per cent of the population. We may never get to know the full death toll from these fires - so many were affected by the toxic smoke. We lost a member of our community after he suffered a massive asthma attack. He had never suffered from asthma before. Calling it BlackSummer is racist! Coronavirus sceptics will say they died 'with' smoke in their lungs not 'from' smoke 🙄
