The Brisbane Roar open their A-League account with a 4-3 win over first-placed Melbourne City, after trailing 2-0, and later 3-1, during the match.

The Brisbane Roar have notched their first victory of the A-League season with a stunning upset of table-toppers Melbourne City, coming back from 2-0 down to nab the win.

The game looked to be pretty standard fare early on, with former Roar star Jamie Maclaren slotting in the sixth and 29th minutes to give City a 2-0 lead at half-time in front of the sell-out crowd of 9,387. But Brisbane's Aaron Amadi-Holloway managed to get his boot to a well-placed cross on the hour mark, and he was brought down in the box by Rostyn Griffiths four minutes later, allowing O'Donovan to tie the scores from the spot.
