Violent protests across Bolivia have heightened this week between security forces and supporters of former president Evo Morales, according to Sky News host Brent O’Halloran.

Violent protests across Bolivia have heightened this week between security forces and supporters of former President Evo Morales, according to Sky News host Brent O’Halloran. A right-wing opposition party used the military to force President Morales from office shortly after the election in November last year claiming he tried to rig it; multiple independent studies have found the accusations were false.

It has been nine months since former president Morales was removed, interim President Jeanine Áñez has postponed new elections claiming it is due the coronavirus pandemic. Mr O’Halloran spoke with the Centre for Economic and Policy Research’s Mark Weisbrot about the issue. “The delays I think are being used by the government stay in power,” Mr Weisbrot said.

Wow! Did you interview any Bolivians? Did you read any REAL news from Bolivia? ProEvo ppl have been turned into terrorists that dynamite roads, prevent exit of garbage or entry of food/medical supplies, that kidnap/beat those who refuse to join their criminal acts MAS=TERRORISTS

Fake news! Evo Morales resigned because of people protests, there was no coup. You should check your sources and stop spreading lies!

Your “source” also forgot to mention that protesters blocked the main roads causing 3 main cities to run out of oxygen for hospitals as well as violet attacks on health workers and ambulances. 40 people have die & 10 premature babies are very ill due to the lack of oxygen.

2/2 the date was set for the 6-09 but postponed because numerous protections coincided that the peak of COVID-19 was going to be the first week of September. It was postponed 42 days. Bolivia have over 4000 deaths and close to 100,000 cases of COVID in a collapsed health system

Zero fact checking in Bolivia the date of the election is set by the Electoral Tribunal, appointed by the EvoMorales party who holds 2/3 of the parliament. The Electoral Tribunal is independent of the interim govt. 1/2

I wouldn’t say former president supporters it was everybody in general that doesn’t like these Interim government

'Lack of clarity': Laws to be changed to deploy the ADF domesticallyAustralia's military would be given more powers while dealing with national emergencies such as bushfires and pandemics under new laws to be drawn up by the federal government The ADF is for the defence of Australia, not domestic guard duty. I remember when we had a Consitutional democracy and an opposition instead of this. Follow the link and scroll down to Emergency Powers triggered in April under the Biosecurity Act 2015 ... We're under Martial Law already. Any excuse to gain more control. Pathetic, really!

That would be an apt description. Good of Alan Jones to acknowledge the rank abuse of democracy that Australia faces: - an unaccountable and corrupt Federal Gov't, and - an out-of-control propaganda machine owned by a foreign billionaire aiding and abetting the corrupt Gov't. Thanks Alan. Now say sorry!
