Mr Hawke's office this afternoon confirmed the minister had given an undertaking that the family would be granted bridging visas for a further three months, expiring on December 23, 2021. "Noting that arrangements have already been made for to attend an appointment on 23 September 2021 to enable the minister to reconsider … the grant of a bridging E visa to the applicants," the court was told.

However, family friend Simone Cameron said the temporary reprieve means the family's situation is "largely unchanged".
