Biloela family members to be granted three-month visa next week | JewelTopsfield

Immigration Minister Alex Hawke will allow the Tamil asylum seeker family at the centre of a protracted immigration dispute to remain in the community in Perth for another three months while their latest legal battle plays out in court.

They are arguing that there was a denial of procedural fairness because there was not a proper chance to comment on the decision. “We submit a measure of unreasonableness in the way that the department rushed into a decision without checking to see whether there was in fact a submission to them,” Mr Aleksov said.“We say that is especially concerning in circumstances where there’s just such a long history of engagement between these two parties and their representatives specifically in relation to this particular part of the long-running battle.

In March 2018, they were taken from Biloela and sent to Christmas Island. Since then, courts and tribunals all the way up to the High Court have ruled the parents do not have refugee status.

JewelTopsfield Diabolical

JewelTopsfield More government sadism, just grant them a Permanent visa and more you sadists

JewelTopsfield Just long enough to get the LNP to an election & hopefully remove this as a sticky issue. Once election won? Visas rescinded and family deported. Only a fool believes the government have any heart in this

JewelTopsfield Why are taxpayers wasting too much money of them? Have they given anything back to the society?

JewelTopsfield Deport asap

I mean, as a Swans fan, I saw the things that Bridie said about my club... I wouldn't want her on my board either, even if she is very qualified. There is passion about your club (Hartley) and there is disrespect to others.
