Mr Biden is expected to announce his running mate in the coming days, with the announcement delayed more than once in the past few weeks.
Frontrunners include California Senator Kamala Harris, former National Security Advisor Susan Rice, Illinois Senator Tammy Duckworth, and in recent days Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
