Sky News host Chris Kenny says initially Australia got on top of the coronavirus pandemic but since then there has been “overreaction after overreaction” from state governments on lockdown measures.

“You know I praised Scott Morrison and the premiers, the National Cabinet, for how they got on top of this pandemic early,” Mr Kenny said. “But since then we've seen overreaction after overreaction, not from Canberra but from the states”. However, Mr Kenny did say NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian is now “starting to push harder than the other states to open up” as the coronavirus curve continues to flatten in the country.

On Friday Ms Berejiklian had said up to 50 people will be allowed inside pubs, cafes and restaurants from June after she decided to roll back far more restrictions than anticipated. “This is a lifeline, there'll be all sorts of new restrictions and social distancing, but these numbers will allow some businesses to operate commercially,” Mr Kenny said.

Who cares what Chris Kenny says ! Dumbarse !

What are Chris Kenny's credentials? o, nothing. ok

Well they underreacted on the Ruby Princess and both Health Minister and Premier kept their jobs. What right has she got to criticise overreaction now.

Yep... letting the Ruby Princess passengers off really helped. Well done Dutton and NSW. Like anyone is going to listen to NSW or the Murdoch party.

First of all was flatten the curve, now move the goal posts to elimination. Open up. wafifoprisoner

I totally agree 👍🏼

Knee jerk is the politically correct term

Blah, blah, blah.

Another thoughtful piece of expert commentary from ... oh, wait. It's Chris Kenny. Never mind.

Chris knows someone much better than everyone else on earth, he should tun for parliament. Oh wait, he did.

Chris ‘how to win twitter’ Kenny? Bahahaha

Chris Kenny, what a fuck wit, I wouldn't listen to his opinion. If they hadn't closed all the borders when they did, we would be in a lot worse position than we are now. And GladysB is just being a liberal lap dancer by reopening everything too soon. She aint getting my vote!

Not enough death?

Yeah Scooter whatever you recon..

Chris shove this in your pipe and smoke it 💩

This is an opinion piece and should contain a rant warning

Yeah I'd put my life in Chris Kenny's ever so cautiously careful hands, any day, sure, no problem 😏 Bloke's an analytical genius with scientificy stuff 🤠 JacktheInsider

It's been 8wks since I went to the gym. The gains have all but disappeared completely.

Isn’t she the same Premier who oversaw Ruby prince debacle & wants Chinese students to return next month? What coolaid you drinking to think she’s doing a good job?

Who is Chris Kenny and why should I give a tinker's cuss what he thinks?

It's better to overreact then underreact!!!!! Thank goodness Chris Kenny has no influence in running this country!!!!

So says Chris Kenny...not an expert.

US states move to reopen despite predictions of 'death and destruction' | Sky News AustraliaFormer US Naval Intelligence Officer John Jorden says the “American public is starting to realise there is a tension between what the media is saying and the reality” of the coronavirus crisis. \n\nMr Jordan told Sky News all US states were beginning to reopen “to varying degrees” and people were “conflicted about it”. \n\nHe said the media painted the early reopening as “a disaster,', with some warning 'there’s going to be a lot of death and destruction and illness”. \n\n“On a per capita basis they are doing better both in terms of infection and in terms of hospitalisation, and in terms of deaths than are the real militant lockdown states,” he said. \n\n“Americans are coming to understand risk of illness is not equally distributed across society – it is overwhelmingly concentrated towards older folks.\n\n“So if you protect those groups the risk is fairly minimal throughout the rest of society – that’s what those states that have opened up early have done.” \n\nImage: AP Lol, wait, what, it's all bullshit? Dozens of refugees flown from Australia and PNG to US despite coronavirus travel bansDozens of refugees who have spent years in Australia’s offshore processing regime have been flown to the United States for resettlement, despite COVID-19 travel restrictions. ashame the burden is given to americans rather than doing the right thing and sending them back Wow! Way to rally - you guys are amazing On the one hand I'm glad they'll finally resume life as free men, on the other I worry the US will fail to provide them with a safety net. It is a sick country in more ways than just the pandemic. Add this failure to provide for these refugees to the list of our shameful actions.
