Two Australian diggers finally laid to rest after 100 yearsThe remains of Lance Corporal James Leonard Rolls and Private Hedley Roy Macbeth were discovered only recently. HEROS - MAY THEY REST IN PEACE They were obviously non-indigenous Australians of foreign immigrant blood ancestry being people of no colour whites. With immigration again in the headlines, which ethnic community of Australians were they from? Britons, Anglos, Irish, Saxons, French Normans, Germans? Why here?

Diggers had a code of honour in WWI: Are we living up to it?Comment: If my grandfather were to look at Australia today, what would he think of our efforts to live up to the ideal of the Armistice? If those who fought against Germany in WWII could see their countries now they’d have put down their weapons and fought with Germany against the Bolsheviks in an instant The wrong side won WWII Hey, we did ok. There's only been a few tens of millions killed by war since the armistice. We got a lot of fat women.

Another cheap shot at Johanna Khonta in Rob RobCanning16's sports report, referring to her as 'Sydney-born Brit'. Note he didn't refer to Gavrilova as 'Russian-born Aussie' or Tomljanovic as 'Croatian-born Aussie'. Get over it - it's boring!!!

Australian Open 2019, tie-break rules, super tie-break at 6-6, big change to final sets, longest Australian Open match everThe Australian Open is set to introduce tie-breakers in the final sets of all matches, with the change to potentially be introduced for the 2019 tournament. The first thing they should do is have women play the same number of sets as men. They are paid the same. 🙄 What for? Watching athletes slug it out in the 5th set is a great spectacle and a test of their physical and mental powers. Plus they get a shitload enough to do it as well Not a fan. The Wimbledon solution of a tie break at 10, 12, 14 or whatever it is is far better. Nothing beats the drama of seeing an 8 appear on the board and knowing there’s drama somewhere at Melb Park!
