Home Affairs Minister Clare O’Neil says the country’s immigration system is “complex” and “slow” and “completely out of step” with Australia’s migration focus of “permanency, on citizenship, and on fair rights” no matter their origin.

“Australia today has a problem we have always studiously avoided, and that is a large underclass of undocumented migrant workers

who are living in our country today and are extremely vulnerable to exploitation,” Ms O’Neil told the National Press Club on Thursday.

Australia immigration system is nothing more than a sophisticated scam that destroys lives and dreams

Is this code for if you come here illegally & get benefits & agree to vote for Labor we will give you citizenship? But if your a tradesman trained as an electrician with skills needed with a family & not playing victim; you’ll still need to jump through endless hoops.

Fire this witch

Has no idea

Where is the evidence that the majority of Australian's actually want population growth ? - answer, they don't. Where is the evidence that population growth in the 21st century is actually a good thing ? - answer, it's not.

One of the key issues is the poor post migration scenario. If we aspire to be multicultural then we need to have policies that work toward that end. Little is done to integrate/assimilate into the evolving Australian way of life.

It’s not complex they make it complicated.

Here we go, the boats are about to start up again. Just like last time incompetent labor governed

Our infrastructure and services cannot keep up with the unsustainable increase in population particularly from immigration. This has a knock-down effect on hospital waiting time, quality of education to class size, rent increase, etc. ... yet we are not talking about it.

Minister, you are being reported as saying a lot, while actually doing very little.

In other words, she is intent on opening the floodgates. Where are all these people going to live?

Many of the 1 million visas awaiting approval are for people already in Australia seeking to change status.

Did anyone ask her where all these migrants are going to live when we already have a rental crisis which has been made worse by record numbers of Net migration in the first quarter this year per The ABS, and record numbers of international students? So much for the slow system.

Temp visa holders don't have access to Medicare, Centrelink & family reunions of non-economic family members & can be directed to the regions for skills shortages. Labor is adding 10's of $bill's in liabilities with no additional revenue.
