The Australian Medical Association says Australia's ability to control the rampant coronavirus is being hampered because we do not have a centralised infection control body like other major western countries.
Their call for a centralised national coordinating centre for infectious disease is also being backed by the Australasian Society for Infectious Disease. Newscorp National Health Correspondent Sue Dunlevy says "we need a single voice on this, we've already seen in the last week conflicting messages from state and federal governments about whether kids who have been to China should be able to go to school.
Much like us not having a central bushfire control body. It might have something to do with our Constitution/State rights. Do the AMA propose we re-write the Constitution or have the Federal Govt ask the State Govts to relinquish some of their rights? Good luck with either.
Nobody trusts the self-serving, highly political AMA any more. 😳
