A career-best score from Ashleigh Gardner was not enough for Australia as it fell to a seven-wicket defeat to India at Junction Oval, putting its participation in the tri-series final in doubt.

The hosts got off to an awful start in St Kilda, losing an out-of-form Alyssa Healy for a three-ball duck in the very first over.

Beth Mooney and Gardner put on 62 runs for the second wicket as Australia stabilised and then accelerated to a competitive total. Gardner continued to prosper in partnership with returning captain Meg Lanning before both departed in consecutive overs to Yadav and Sharma respectively. India's innings got off to a blistering start as Verma and Mandhana made 85 runs in 50 balls for the first wicket.

Mum granted visa so she can fly to Melbourne to see son on life supportChinese mother gets visa to come to Australia, despite the coronavirus travel ban, so she can see her only son who is on life support in a Melbourne hospital. How can you travel to Australia without insurance? How does immigration law allows this to happen? This should be number one requisite when coming here. Good. Glad that she can come in and see her son.

We were letting people into Australia, when in my ' public health ' brain, we shouldn't have been. Denying this mother now is cruel. Seems this is becoming the norm. michaelfowler08 What part of ‘quarantine’ don’t you understand?
