"The rail network is an integral part of the integrity of the city so I would ask that protesters not disrupt people going about their day-to-day rail travel and ensure that they are safe," Assistant Commissioner Mick Willing said. Extinction Rebellion protesters overtook major intersections across the country again today - drawing the outrage of disrupted commuters.

In total, more than 200 people walked into the CBD today to block major intersections and storm the offices of mining giant BHP Billiton. More arrests were likely today as Extinction Rebellion protests hit public transport in major Australian cities. The union wants a five per cent annual pay rise over three years, a change from their initial demand of a six per cent increase.
