Austin Health CEO Sue Shilbury resigns in wake of series of hospital controversies

Austin Health chief executive Sue Shilbury resigns after just three years in the role, telling staff of her difficult decision to leave after a series of negative reports involving the Austin Hospital .

Sue Shilbury said she made the"difficult" decision to leave to be closer to family in Sydney

Ms Shilbury emailed staff on Tuesday confirming she had made the"difficult decision" to leave.

ABC's 7.30 program reported the case of Austin patient Rory Wilson and nurse Tim Griffin

Five days later, following a massive bilateral stroke, a scan confirmed Mr Wilson had suffered a series of strokes while he was at the hospital.

Got to say, after my only dealings with the Austin, when my daughter in law went to emergency I was left unimpressed. After 7 hours & 3 'doctors ' she left still not knowing what was wrong.
