For some, COVID lockdowns were a circuit breaker triggering new hobbies like nature photography — although not everyone was so fortunate.

For Rianna Shoemaker, the feeling of being cut off from your social circle because of COVID-19 is all too familiar.

"I was completely isolated for about four months … it was the hardest challenge I've ever experienced," she says. This year has also been tough, Rianna says, but one thing that's helped has been widening her support network.Rianna says she feels fortunate to have kept her job during the pandemic.
