Archer Brady's family has a long association with Jeans for Genes Day. It wasn't until he was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis that it became personal.

Archer is one of this year's faces of Jeans for Genes, an annual fundraiser for children living with genetic conditions.In Australia, all newborn babies are screened for cystic fibrosis, a progressive, genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections, with no known cure."The shocking thing is that you don't know what they're talking about when they call you out of the blue," she says.

"If you both have the genes, it's a one-in-four [chance] … he was our one in four," Mrs Brady says of Archer, the family's fourth child.
