In order to make sure people abide by these new rules, the City of Hobart have employed an anti-smoking officer to crackdown on smokers.
However, Deputy Lord Mayor Helen Burnet, said handing out fines isn’t the main focus of the role and education and awareness is the primary goal. The appointment of the officer comes after the Council made the decision to make Hobart’s CBD smoke-free from April next year.Source:News Corp Australia
