Daniel Andrews has brushed off an attack from Education Minister Dan Tehan over his reluctance to reopen schools insisting political infighting “is not what is needed” right now. Mr Tehan on Sunday was forced to walk back comments he made accusing the Victorian Premier of a “failure of leadership” and taking a “sledgehammer” to the state’s education system. The education minister later said the comments were made in “frustration” and that he overstepped the mark.

When asked about the stoush on Monday, Mr Andrews said he wasn’t “particularly worried”. “I saw the comments and then I read a statement later on in the day but that was not my focus,” he said. “Ultimately … fighting amongst ourselves is not what is needed. I hope all your so called journalists on Sky now have some idea of what real leadership looks like!

A leader.

All hail chairman Dan. For he is never wrong.

You can’t fake true leadership. Proud to be a Victorian right now

A sign that there are some places in this nation that jurisdictional leaders have moral courage and focus on the public good. auspol Well done, DanielAndrewsMP ... Don’t let the silly taunts displace your focus.

DanielAndrewsMP the dictator also brushed off when asked that the UNAMED meat processing plant is a financial donor to the VictorianLabor party corrupt government

Lockdown Dan (Self Preserver), being financially secure, fearing only C19, continues a harsh lockdown simply to save his own skin, whilst hiding behind the moral guise of saving the elderly & the essential services. Sensible SD's & getting people back to work = postC19 deaths.

Good on you DanielAndrewsMP . I’m home schooling 5 kids. It’s a LOT of work and stress but that’s nothing compared to what the virus does to people. Ignore those who don’t understand the real threat because there will always be someone unhappy with what you decide.

Hypocrisy This far-left premier and his teacher's union are only interested in trying to hurt the standing of the Morrison govt Thats how they play politics in Melbourne

Dan Andrews wins at adulting yet again. auspol

Send the children to school or be accountable

Hang on. What's needed right now, is our kids to be educated, to be back at schools now.

How gutless are the Libs, stand by your statements

DanielAndrewsMP you are holding our state back ffs open things up

Dan Tehan attacks Daniel Andrews over handling of schools during coronavirus crisisThe Morrison government has launched a scathing attack on Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews over the controversial issue of opening schools during the COVID-19 crisis. Followed by a Covid19 cluster being announced at a Vic school. Pity Tehan did not get slammed with this news The more Morrison pushes this the more trust he looses among healthcare workers and teachers. How about the federal government takes a quick look-see at the Constitution, and gets back in their lane.

Victorian primary school closed after teacher contracts COVID-19 | Sky News AustraliaA Victorian primary school in Epping will be closed for three days, after a teacher tested positive for coronavirus.\n\nVictorian Health Minister Jenny Mikakos said a thorough cleaning of Meadowglen primary school would occur due to the teacher's recent onsite presence. \n\nParents, carers and staff were contacted by the school on Sunday morning and contract tracing was now underway. \n\nIt comes just hours after federal Education Minister Dan Tehan accused the state’s Premier Daniel Andrews of a “failure in leadership” by refusing to reopen schools along with other states.\n I do find it interesting that the Victorian health minister had no hesitation naming the school (even though it’s been shut for weeks) but refuses to name the meat works, where the cluster is. You might like to consider how many would've caught the virus had the school been OPEN. With parents back at work, grandparents wd have been picking up their grandchildren who certainly could have been infected. Cd have been a catastrophic outcome. Thankfully school was CLOSED!
