The Australian's Gerard Henderson says for a decade there has been a "media pile on led by the ABC" against the exonerated Cardinal George Pell. Mr Henderson spoke of the Jury trial which convicted Cardinal Pell on sexual abuse charges, and said in such a circumstance where the media pile on skewed in one such way it was "very difficult to imagine how anyone would have got a fair trial".
"Led by Victoria Police, in cooperation with the ABC, the whole web of media pile on against George Pell went on for years". Mr Henderson told Sky News host Andrew Bolt, at every path where it got to the end, the ABC's pile on and arguments against Pell, "either the DPP in has withdrawn it, her magistrate has not proceeded with it, or the High Court overturned it".
